Full Birth Package
This is my most comprehensive package which consists of my support from the beginning of pregnancy, throughout birth and into the early postnatal period.

Antenatal

- Unrushed and individualised antenatal visits in your own home lasting 1-2 hours per appointment. Each appointment includes a complete holistic assessment of the health and wellbeing of your and your baby.

- Visits start in the first trimester of pregnancy with a booking appointment and then they typically occur

-
monthly until 28 weeks
-
then 2 weekly until 36 weeks when we start to get ready to welcome your baby
-
at 37 weeks, visits usually become weekly until birth
-
as we get very close to birth, it is typical for us to be in daily contact by phone or message

These visits are not set in stone. I can be flexible according to your individual needs.

- Visits include detailed and personalised support with birth planning, including guidance on navigating NHS care and advocacy throughout, should you require it. I will help prepare you for the transition to parenthood and life with a newborn human. I will listen to you and I will not rush.

- I will give you access to the Complete Hypnobirthing and Newborn Care Online Course by Linda Lilwall which you can use at your leisure to support our birth and early parenthood planning, along with helping you to get ready for caring for a newborn.

- All relevant bloods and screening can be arranged (Sneak Peek, NIPT and private testing can be arranged at an additional cost)

- I will include two full body pregnancy massages throughout the course of your antenatal care which I can conduct in the comfort of your own home

- I can provide you with a TENs machine and show you how to use it for labour pain relief

- I can provide you with your own birth ball and demonstrate how to use it to prepare your body for labour and for relief of common pregnancy aches and pains

- I will use aromatherapy throughout your care and will weave this throughout my visits if you wish, creating a personalised oil blend for you to use in labour and birth

- Should your pregnancy progress past 41 weeks, I can arrange for a private reassurance ultrasound scan if you wish

- I can offer support and advocacy during hospital appointments with Consultants, if you wish.

- If you are planning a homebirth, extensive planning and preparation including support with practising setting up the pool in your home and considering all relevant practicalities will be undertaken in the later weeks of pregnancy.

- All required maternity exemption and maternity pay forms can be provided

Birth

- I will be on call 24/7 for your birth from 37 weeks of pregnancy until your baby is born.

- If you choose to birth at home, I will attend your home with a second fully qualified Midwife for support. I will be your primary Midwife providing clinical care and I will stay with you for a few hours after your baby's birth, until you are settled and ready for me to leave. If you for any reason transfer into hospital, I can come with you for support.
- Homebirth care includes undertaking baby's Newborn Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) should you consent to this.

- Birth pool and associated kit (including a pool liner) will be provided.

- If you are planning a hospital birth, I can attend your birth once your labour is 'established', until a while after baby is born. I will not be your primary Midwife providing clinical care if you choose this option, but I will be there to support you as a professional birth partner and help to guide you through your birth in the maternity system, advocating for you along the way.

- If you are planning an abdominal birth (caesarean section) I may be able to attend depending on specific hospital rules. This would have to be explored and arranged on an individual basis and depends on the hospital you are birthing in.

*Note that if you are planning a hospital birth, whether vaginal or abdominal, and you plan to receive NHS care in that period and do not require me to be on call - by Before & After package may be more suited to your needs. See 'Before & After' below.

Postnatal

- I will provide enhanced postnatal support including a flexible visiting schedule, for at least the first two weeks of your new baby's life. I can arrange additional visits if you need them.

- I can undertake your baby's Newborn Blood Spot Test on day 5 of life, should you consent to this.

- My visits will be personalised to your unique needs each day and will not be rushed. During visits I will be assessing your overall physical and emotional wellbeing and the health and development of your baby. I can weigh your baby and make appropriate feeding plans if required. I will be there to support you through the ups and downs of the early days and I will provide practical help wherever you need it. I will bring cake :)

- I will take as much time as you and your baby need to help you get breastfeeding established and help you to feel confident in your ability to breastfeed. As a Midwife, a previous peer supporter and mother of two who has breastfed into older infanthood, I am confident and experienced to help you on your journey.

- If you choose not to breastfeed, I will support you with optimal bottle feeding including support with safe feed preparation and responsive feeding.

- I will usually complete my care package once your baby is around 2 to 3 weeks old, however additional visits and enhanced support can be arranged on an individual basis if required, for example a visit from a trusted IBCLC or tongue tie specialist.

- At 6-12 weeks after birth I can arrange for a Mummy MOT with a trusted local physiotherapist, who will help to assess your pelvic recovery from pregnancy and birth, providing treatment plans and exercises where required.

- I can arrange for a number of additional holistic therapies throughout this process, such as acupuncture, further pregnancy massage and reflexology if you wish.

You will have complete continuity of care from me and access to my support and guidance by phone/message throughout your entire journey.
